The opportunity:

To drive outstanding claims outcomes across Zurich’s Motor and Property lines of business. As a result of internal progression and growth in a number of areas, Zurich and our Claims partner WNS are recruiting for a number of excellent, highly ambitious Specialist Claims Handlers driven to achieve leading customer outcomes and build a stellar career.

The role of Specialist Claims Handler is to deliver a high-quality, cost-effective and outstanding claims service for Zurich and its customers, applying technical expertise to a wide range of claim types arising within our Motor and Property lines of business. The successful candidates will personally handle a portfolio of claims to an excellent, if not market-leading standard aimed at top level customer feedback, settlement times and competitive costs.

The team services first part damage claims for Zurich’s customers within all UK legal jurisdictions. This role is based in Glasgow, but can be flexible to those around the UK with the right behaviours and experience. Please note, some travel may be required to attend meetings/conferences where virtual attendance is not possible or appropriate.

What are we looking for?

  • Candidates with a positive, can-do mindset with a desire of resolving issues.
  • Insurance experience is advantageous, but not essential.
  • Strong understanding of tNPS scoring mechanisms and where we can implement solutions to enable improvements to customer feedback.
  • Demonstrated track record of managing a large caseload.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise a high degree of self-management.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • High level knowledge of Motor and/or Property products and services is recommended.
  • High level knowledge of internal governance procedures and requirements.
  • Career driven professionals seeking to make a real difference to Zurich, its customers and to their own progression.

What will you be doing?

  • Always demonstrating role model behaviours and true customer focus in accordance with Zurich’s Claims Commitment.
  • Utilising extensive prior experience in a high-impact customer service and/or technical insurance environment.
  • Displaying a positive ‘can-do’ mindset aimed toward excellent customer outcomes, removal of waste and enhancing productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Ensure effective and prompt settlement of claims in specialist areas.
  • Review and proactively finalise all claims within technical limits and authority levels, unless otherwise agreed to handle under licence.
  • Proactively drive own professional growth and career progression.
  • Support team-mates and share best practice.
  • Undertakes ad-hoc projects and initiatives as required.
