Group IFRS Analyst, London Paddington

Role purpose:

A rare opportunity to join the Group’s IFRS advisory team with a range of responsibilities including providing accounting technical advice to operating companies and Group Functions, assessing new accounting pronouncements, maintaining the Group’s Financial Reporting and Governance Manual and providing support to the Group’s External Reporting team at key times.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

Working with the wider IFRS advisory team to provide high quality technical advice to all parts of the business, including the preparation of accounting memorandums.
Analysis and documentation of the impact on the Group of new and proposed changes to IFRS standards.
Preparation of the Group’s quarterly ‘Reporting Updates’ and maintenance of the Group’s Financial Reporting and Governance Manual.
Supporting the Group’s external reporting process – responsibilities include undertaking analysis of Group-wide financial information for inclusion in the Group’s financial reporting and performing key controls to ensure the quality of reporting.

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

A good knowledge of the key principles of IFRS (IFRS 15 and 16 knowledge beneficial) with the skills to research GAAP materials to determine appropriate accounting treatments.
Strong communication skills (written, oral and presentation) to summarise and explain complex issues.
Self-motivated to provide timely and high quality services for stakeholders.
The confidence to discuss complex accounting matters with key stakeholders.

Must have technical / professional qualifications:

ACA qualified with at least 5 years’ post-qualification experience.

Governance Manual and providing support to the Group’s External Reporting team at key times.
